For Waterbus, sustainability is not an empty promise

With their strong focus on corporate outfits made from more environmentally friendly materials and recycling worn clothing, Waterbus has saved quite a bit of water, virgin resources and CO2 emissions. That is why we proudly presented this year’s Outfit Sustainability Award 2024 to Waterbus!

With this award, we hope to inspire even more companies to take more sustainable steps and do their bit to make the textile industry more sustainable.

Recognition for sustainable initiatives

For the second time this year, Outfit company wear is presenting the Outfit Sustainability Award, which recognizes companies that have made an exceptional commitment to sustainability within the textile industry. Last year Diergaarde Blijdorp won the award, this year the honor goes to Waterbus. Waterbus distinguishes itself through an active and conscious approach in the field of recycling company clothing and choosing clothing made from environmentally friendly materials as much as possible.

Sustainable company wear as a spearhead

One of the spearheads of Outfit company wear is to contribute to the sustainability of the textile industry. We inspire our customers to choose sustainable company clothing and encourage them not to throw away worn clothing, but to return it for recycling or to make something new out of it together with our partners (upcycling). To further emphasize the importance of sustainable choices and recycling, we created the Outfit Sustainability Award in 2023. This award will be given annually to a customer who excels in sustainable initiatives.

Waterbus: leader in sustainable corporate clothing

In recent years, Waterbus has proven itself to be an organization where sustainability is not an empty promise but an integral part of policy. Recycling discarded company clothing has now become a matter of course, and making environmentally friendly choices is also high on the agenda when purchasing new company clothing. Thanks to this commitment, Waterbus has made a significant contribution to reducing waste and reusing valuable raw materials.

Waterbus’ recycling of discarded company clothing has resulted in the following environmental savings:

  • 123.3 m³ of water saved, equivalent to 2,466 shower turns
  • 220 kg of raw materials reused
  • 120.6 kg of CO2 emissions reduced, equivalent to planting 5 trees

These figures underscore the impact of sustainable corporate clothing and demonstrate the importance of making conscious choices as an organization.
